The AIMN has developed a media release responding to the passing of the Social Security (Administration) Amendment (Repeal of Cashless Debit Card and Other Measures) Bill 2022. While the end of the Cashless Debit Card is welcome, it is concerning that tens of thousands of people in Australia, most of whom are First Nations, continue to be subjected to compulsory income management.
